08-02-2014:

The next day we were picked up at 9 am by Pita, Yuhda and Yusuf. We planned to look for an apartment during this day. But, because of the religion there are a lot of apartments that are only for women or only for men. Apartments for both are rare. So, we went for the first apartment. And it wasn’t what we expected, it was okay. We didn’t like the fact that the rooms didn’t had windows at all. We went on to the next and last apartment for both man and women, this one was better but it didn’t looked clean at all. The owner told us that other people rented this room, and it wasn’t cleaned yet. After looking at the apartments, we to a big mall. Pita, Yusuf and Yuhda helped us with getting an Indonesian phone number and showed us this mall. After we lunched here, we went back to the hotel and separated with Pita, Yusuf and Yuhda at our hotel. After resting a bit, we walked through Yogyakarta to get to know the place a bit better. That night we had diner at a Chinese restaurant.

9-2-2014:

Today it was my birthday!!! At 1:30 Janna and Eef knocked on my door to congratulate me. This was very early, but sweet. This day I got a lot of birthday wishes from my friends in The Netherlands and from my friends in Indonesia. Pita bought me a Yogya shirt and Janna, Monique, Jente and Eef bought me all kinds of stuff, like sambal, a notebook and tissues in case I was going to cry =P

This day was also the day we had to decide in which apartment we wanted to live. But our girlfriend Danique, who also joined us at the flight, told us about the apartments of Gryia Anggitan. We went there to take a look, and we all liked it. It was our first choice. It was beautiful, clean and from the balcony you had a great view at the sawas. But, only for women the owner told us. So, it wasn’t possible for us to stay here. Dede, Pita and Yuhda tried to convince the owner to let us stay here, without any success.
So, we went back to the second apartment to arrange that we could live her for one month. While Eef was looking at the rooms, Dede had a phone call. He walked outside, and I saw him cheering.
When he came back, he was very happy. You could tell it by his face =P. We instantly asked him why he was so happy. He told us, the griya anggitan apartment had made an exception for us to live there with me included. We were all very happy and delighted. The next day we could move to Gryia anggitan.

After this good news, we took Dede, Yuhda and Pita for lunch to a pizza restaurant. On our way, we met two guys from Nijmegen. Stefan and Raul. After having a conversation we invited them to lunch too, if it was okay with Pita. Which it was ofcourse =P. After lunch, we went back to the hotel. But on our road there were a lot of shops. All of the girls wanted to look in these shops to look for clothes, bags and to just take a look at everything inside. In the last shop there was actually very good music, A Day To Remember ^^ Which is my favorite band, for those who didn’t know. Which is bad if you know me for a long time ;)

When the girls were satisfied with their new clothes and bags, we went for our hotel. Our last night in the UNY hotel. Tomorrow we will move to our new apartment.
